SILVER THREAD (2022-ongoing)
Paint me the bold anfractuous rocks
Faced by the snarled and yelping seas.
Interweaving my family’s fifty-year history on the La Have Islands with the loss of the Nova Scotia fishing industry that accompanied this span, Silver Thread imbues the landscape of La Have with a childlike re-imagining of collective memory and its haunting in the present. Embodying a form of obscuration, escape and isolation, the landscape itself becomes imaginary.
